Sikkim Professional University (SPU), formerly Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University, was founded in 2008 under Act No. 11 of 2008 of the Sikkim State Assembly. Renamed in 2020, it is recognised by UGC, INC (Indian Nursing Council) and PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) and is an AIU member. SPU offers 50+ UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes across engineering, pharmacy, nursing, management, arts, science and IT through two campuses in East and West Sikkim.
