Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University (LITU), formerly the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT), is a public state university in Nagpur specialising in Chemical Engineering and allied technologies. Founded in 1942 through a donation from Rao Bahadur D. Laxminarayan to Nagpur University, it was elevated to a specialised unitary technological university by the Maharashtra government under the LIT University Act, 2023. Spread over 78 acres, LITU offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Surface Coating Technology, Oil Technology and Polymer & Plastics Technology, and is NAAC A+ accredited.
