G. M. University (GMU) is a private university in Davanagere, Karnataka, established under Karnataka Act No. 19 of 2023 (came into force 21 August 2023), sponsored by the Srishyla Education Trust. It evolved from GM Institute of Technology (GMIT), established in 2001 by the late Sri G. Mallikarjunappa (MP, Chitradurga). The university is UGC-recognised, AICTE-approved, BCI and PCI recognised, and NAAC-accredited with B++ Grade. Located adjoining the Deputy Commissioner's office on the Pune–Bengaluru Highway (NH-48), the campus is ~4 km from Davanagere city. GMU offers UG, PG, diploma, and doctoral programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Management, Law, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences through multiple schools.
